The Lord Mayor's Visit 2009

Every year the Lord Mayor or Deputy Lord Mayor makes a visit to Freemen's Holt to see the estate and to meet the Deputies.

During September 2009, The Lord Mayor Councillor Roger Blackmore with the Lady Mayoress Mrs Hilary Blackmore visited Roy and Iris Cave in their bungalow at Freemen's Holt.

The Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress were given a tour of the estate by Chairman of the Board Paul Ross and his wife Julie (pictured left) in September 2009 when they met with Jim Manship (pictured next to the Lord Mayor).

Deputy Peter Bates with his wife Jean also escorted the party (pictured right).

The Lord Mayors visit to Freemen's Holt

We were fortunate with the weather enjoying a warm sunny afternoon. The Lord and Lady Mayoress were very impressed with the estate and enjoyed meeting new residents Michael and Jean Ayres in their new bungalow.

A roast dinner was served in the Community Centre to the honoured guests, the Deputies and their wives and the residents that the Lord Mayor had visited during the afternoon.

Everyone enjoyed the relaxed afternoon despite being one of the big annual occasions for the Chairman and the Board of Deputies.
