We were fortunate with the weather enjoying a warm sunny afternoon after quite a showery morning. The Lord and Lady Mayoress were very impressed with the estate and enjoyed meeting Jim and Mavis Manship.

During the tour of the estate some of the Deputies and their wives accompany the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress to provide details of the history of the Freemen of Leicester and the background to the Holt.

The above photograph shows (from the right), Valerie Porter and Christine Lewitt with their husbands Roger Porter and Jeffrey Lewitt. Both Deputies have previously been Chairmen of various committees and Chairmen of the Board of Deputies.
